Every day, immigrants flee the United States seeking asylum in Canada. At these so-called “irregular” crossing locations, they are arrested as they step across the border, and so begin the process to be accepted into Canada. While some are permitted to stay, others will ultimately be deported to their country of origin. These individuals attempt this demanding and uncertain exodus due to the tightening government policies and increasingly hostile attitude they are experiencing in the United States.
